Dear neighbors,

My name is Ami Wazlawik and I am running for the Minnesota House in district 38B, which includes the communities of North Oaks, White Bear Township, Dellwood and parts of White Bear Lake and Hugo. I am running for office because I believe that it’s time for a community-centered, service-oriented leader to be elected from our district. I am that leader.

I have deep roots in our community – I was raised here and attended local public schools. I’ve been working in WBL Schools’ childcare program for the past 3+ years, and I’ve built relationships with students, families, and school staff who live in our community.

I’ve dedicated lot of time to volunteering and participating in service programs, including spending over two years in AmeriCorps positions in metro-area public schools. I consider running for office to be the next step in my public service journey. For me, being a legislator is about serving the community and advancing the common good, not about ego, power, or personal gain.

As your State Representative, I will bring my commitment to public service and my public policy background to the Capitol and work with you to make our community and our state an even better place to live and work.

I am thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to the community that raised me by running for state representative, and I hope that you’ll consider supporting me in this year’s election. If you have thoughts or ideas about how we can work together or questions about my views on issues please feel free to reach out to me via email at ami@amiwazlawik.com.

Sincerely,
